Other Notes | Jim Pitts had strong musical links with the Broadwood Men. His pewter figures of four men doing a capstan and of musicians were on sale at the first Crawley Folk Festival. This dance was first performed at the same event.
This dance was an experiment with writing dances for a four man set. The steps and figures are from other traditions we were learning at the time. It cannot be said to be in the same style as the other Horsham dances but it belongs in this collection produced by Broadwood. The dance is done with a single long stick. |
