General Notes
The team referred to was the “HorberieShrogys”, a men’s team started by Trefor Owen in 1980. Very shortly after its formation a women’s team started, learning some of the same dances, plus some garland dances, which practiced in the same hall (seperate room) at the same time, they called themselves the “Wakefield Ring-o-bells”. Within a few years the Horberie Shrogys often needed some of the women dancers to help make the side up, and where this happened they danced as Wakefield Morris Dancers, and eventually fully merged as Wakefield Morris Dancers.
